Renee Metcalf has dedicated her life to young people and education. It comes as no surprise then, that she is running for school board this November 2, 2021. In 1988 Renee graduated with a BA in Education from Arizona State University. However, she postponed a teaching career while she stayed home to raise and educate her children. Renee was active in the homeschool community leading field trips and providing other educational opportunities. For ten years, she taught English classes and Shakespearean theater to homeschoolers in 4th grade through high school and has taught in public school for 12 years. In 2013 she started The Inspired Scholar, her business offering online and in-person classes, which she continues to do. This fall, Renee will also be teaching for the Buffalo Christian Academy.
Most importantly, Renee is a conservative Christian who cares deeply about children, families, and learning. Concerned with recent developments in school policies, she has decided to run for the school board to make a more significant impact in supporting wholesome, family-friendly, and academic policies. |
With experience in various educational settings and grade levels, Renee is knowledgeable and well versed in education, able to understand education from numerous angles and work with people from all backgrounds. However, she believes the conservative values of God, home, and country are non-negotiable. She is honored to be running for school board in the Courthouse District in Floyd County.
